Douglas W. Burdge is an architect and entrepreneur based in Malibu, California. Coined by Malibu Magazine as “Malibu's Architect,” Burdge's work spans more than three decades and 300 projects in Malibu alone. When the Woolsey Fire of 2018 harmed several of his clients' homes, Burdge and his team enthusiastically stepped up to collaborate with Plant Prefab on the creation of a new LivingHome that could be constructed quickly and efficiently.
Burdge’s design has evolved during the course of his practice, spanning breathtaking ocean-front homes to award-winning boutique hotels, restaurants, shopping centers, and private clubs. The firm's projects have been featured in publications such as Architectural Digest, The Wall Street Journal, Veranda, Robb Report, Luxe, and Traditional Home. In addition to receiving several "Home of the Year" PCBC Golden Nugget awards, Burdge's residential work in Sun Valley, Idaho has consistently landed his firm on Mountain Living Magazine’s annual Top Mountain Architects & Interior Designers list.
Burdge earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Southern California, and he is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art. The proud father of twin sons, Burdge resides in Malibu with his wife, Laura, where they also own a popular home decor store, Malibu Beach House.
