LEED for Home Charrette Facilitation LivingHomes offers LEED Charrette facilitation for single and multi-family residential construction projects. A LEED Charrette is one of the required steps for LEED for Homes certification. In a LEED Charrette, one or more representatives from the major trades (architect, builder, GC, landscape designer, etc.) meet for 4-8 hours to discuss and define strategies that will be used to reduce ecological footprint, and to pursue LEED certification. We act as the facilitator in this process, providing a neutral perspective along with LEED experience and knowledge in order to allow your Charrette to move smoothly and efficiently.

Some of the key objectives you can hope to achieve with a LivingHomes LEED Charrette include:

• Define your home's overall environmental goals according to LivingHomes' Z6.
• Define the LEED certification level that you hope achieve and identify the specific LEED points that should be pursued as part of the project.
• Develop a strategy to manage the LEED point, which includes the assignment of specific tasks to team members along with specific project objectives based on skill sets and other project constraints.

What is LEED?
The United States Green Building Council (USGBC) introduced the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) building rating system in June 2000. LEED evaluates environmental performance from a "whole building" perspective over a building's life cycle. LEED provides a third-party green building certification tool designed to ensure building owners and occupants that their building meets a high standard of sustainability and performance. LEED is a point-based system that awards points based on different approaches taken that reduce energy, water, resource usage and indoor air pollution. Based on those points, buildings can achieve Certified, Silver, Gold or Platinum designation. The LEED for Homes system was introduced in 2006 and focuses on single and multifamily homes.
