Nexterra Green Homes is developing a community of LivingHomes in Toronto and each of their LivingHomes are available for purchase, including their showhome which will be open for public tours in winter 2010. LivingHomes for Cold Climates!

Since we're working on our first LivingHomes for Canada, we've now worked out the specifics for how we handle all the fun stuff that we get less in southern Cali: (extreme) cold, snow loads, moisture. Our solution: more insulation, wood framing, a bit less glass. LivingHomes are designed to support living roofs, so we’ve always been fine for most snow loads! Now every LivingHome is available for whatever climate – hot, cold, dry, damp!
